Document Description
Use permit to remove approximately 23,000 cubic yards of unpermitted fill followed by habitat restoration within and adjacent to the 200-foot Riparian Corridor setback along Mark West Creek on a 116-acre parcel. Project would remedy County of Sonoma grading and zoning violations (VPL23-0364 and VGR23-0025). The project includes removal of unpermitted fill, including imported soil, woody debris, and a culvert from tributary drainages to Mark West Creek, wetland, riparian and upland areas, with restoration of site topography to pre-violation conditions. Habitat restoration includes revegetation and enhancement of tributary drainages, wetlands, riparian and upland areas and includes creation of additional seasonal wetland.

The proposed project is categorically exempt from the provisions of the CEQA Guidelines pursuant to the Provisions of Title 14 of the California Administrative Code, Section 15333 (Small Habitat Restoration Projects) as the project is for habitat enhancement and streambank stabilization and will not exceed five acres. No exceptions listed under Section 15300.2 apply. There is no reasonable possibility that the project would have a significant effect on the environment.
