Document Description
Emergency repair work on a bridge abutment wall following damage from two vehicular accidents. The project consists of the installation of debris fall protection, a debris containment boom, and shoring for the existing damaged wall, excavation behind the damaged wall, construction of a new concrete abutment wall in the same location as the damaged wall, backfilling the excavation area, and restoring the metal railing and adjacent road surface. The project will restore the retaining wall to its original condition. Emergency replacement of the damaged wall will stabilize the area, restore the protective barrier, and reduce the risk to motorists, workers, and the public.
