Exempt Status
Categorical Exemption
Type, Section or Code
Class 1 (Section 15301), Class 3 (Section 15303)
Reasons for Exemption
Improvements to existing park facilities and infrastructure will result in negligible or no expansion in use (Class 1). No expansion of use beyond that which was previously approved is proposed, and the project would not result in significant environmental effects related to traffic, noise, air quality, public services, utilities, or other environmental resources (Class 1). Installation of new courts, flatwork, fencing, cages, and other equipment count as small/accessory structure and equipment installations pursuant Class 3. Modifications are minor and will not result in exceeding the maximum allowable structures on parcels zoned Recreational/Public Facilities. The project site is not located within a sensitive environmental area, does not involve unusual circumstances, does not result in cumulative impacts, and would not cause a substantial adverse change in the significance of a historic resource.
