Document Description
The purpose of this project is to repair existing shoulders, slopes, and guardrail to prevent future erosion. Concentrated roadway drainage is overflowing existing drainage facilities on State Route 58 causing erosion damage to the shoulder, slope, and guardrail posts from postmile 88.8 to 89.1. The project consists of repairing erosion damage and increasing the hydraulic capacity of the roadside dike to prevent future erosion. Work includes removal and replacement of 40’ of the guardrail and dike, extension of the guardrail and dike, and placement of shoulder backing. Ground disturbance will be limited to the previously disturbed shoulder. All work and staging areas will be confined to Caltrans right-of-way.
