Document Description
The goal of this project is to upgrade an
existing emergency fire exit egress at the California State Railroad Museum to an ADA compliant emergency
fire exit egress to comply with fire and accessibility code.
Project will:
• Remove twelve (12) existing 2-ft x 2-ft concrete pads;
• Excavate soil up to 6-in. deep;
• Install approx. 90-ft of 4-in. x 6-in. redwood lumber pinned down with 2-ft long 5/8-in. rebar; and
• Install decomposed granite over a compacted Class A road base.

The project consists of the operation or minor alteration of existing public or private structures or facilities involving negligible or no expansion of use beyond current levels and is included as “Modifications of existing facilities for handicap access” in the Department of Parks and Recreation’s list of exempt activities, in accordance with CCR §15300.4, and replacement or reconstruction of existing structures and facilities
where the new structure will be located on the same site as the structure replaced and will have substantially the same purpose and capacity as the structure replaced.
