Notice of Exemption

Exempt Status
Categorical Exemption
Type, Section or Code
Section 15302; Section 15314
Reasons for Exemption
The project includes the construction of a new administrative building, MPR, transitional TK/K classroom building, and playgrounds to support educational operations. The project also includes circulation and parking improvements and site improvements throughout the campus, including new landscaping, pedestrian pathways, and pick-up/drop-off areas. All improvements are entirely within the existing school grounds. The project will not result in a net increase in total classrooms and will not increase student enrollment. Therefore, the project qualifies for the Minor Addition to Schools exemption under CEQA Guidelines Section 15314. In addition, the replacement of the existing administrative building, MPR, and classrooms qualifies for the Replacement or Reconstruction exemption under Section 15302, as it will construct new buildings to replace the existing buildings, located within the same project site and with substantially the same purpose (educational operations) and capacity as the structures replaced.
