Reasons for Exemption
It has been determined that the proposed project is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to Section 15301(a) of the CEQA Guidelines (Title 14, California Code of Regulations, Division 6, Chapter 3). This section exempts projects characterized as minor alterations of existing electrical conveyances, involving negligible or no expansion of the existing use. The proposed project meets the above criteria for this exemption. None of the exemptions in Section 15300.2 of the CEQA Guidelines are application to the project. The stations are in previously developed areas and while enhanced illumination is proposed, the additional lighting will not rise to the level of a significant impact.
