Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Streambed Alteration Agreement Notification No. EPIMS-SLO-63309-R4, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code, to the County of San Luis Obispo Department of Public Works.\
The Project includes activities related to the construction of a soil nail and shotcrete retaining walls with micropile footings for bank stabilization at nine locations along Prefumo Canyon Road, See Canyon Road, and Suey Creek Road within Prefumo Creek, See Canyon Creek, and Suey Creek. Project activities will stabilize eroding sections of the stream banks that undermined the adjacent roads at the Project sites. Project activities will include installation of Best Management Practices and erosion and sediment control devices; vegetation removal; removal of sloughed soil and roadway material; micropile and soil nail installation and grouting; backfilling and compacting between the soil nails and the roadway; drainage system installation; wire mesh installation and shotcrete application; roadway repair or replacement; and recontouring and revegetation.

The Lead Agency determined that the Project meets certain qualifying criteria for the exemption. Pursuant to Public Resources Code section 21080.1(a), the Lead Agency is responsible for determining whether the Project is exempt from CEQA and that
determination shall be final and conclusive on all persons, including Responsible Agencies. As a result, CDFW, acting as a Responsible Agency, is bound by the Lead Agency’s determination that the Project is exempt from CEQA.
