Document Description
To remove the seven existing 24-inch corrugated metal pipes and their associated appurtenant structures. The removal will extend to a minimum of 15 feet beyond the landside levee toe. Remaining pipe segments beyond the levee easement will be left in place and plugged with concrete. Pipe locations will be verified through exploratory potholing along an assumed perpendicular alignment, up to 25 feet on either side of the staked locations. The levee will be restored to pre-construction conditions. The backfill and compaction will conform to California Code of Regulations, Title 23, Waters, Division 1 (Title 23), Section 120 – Levees standards. The levee slopes will be reseeded with approved native grasses.

The project qualifies for this exemption because it is limited to the operation, repair, maintenance, permitting, or minor alteration of an existing facility and involves negligible or no expansion of existing or former use.

The Board further finds that none of the exceptions to the categorical exemptions set forth in California Code of Regulations, title 14, section 15300.2 apply.
