Document Description
The Project would expand and modernize the existing North Bay Regional Water Treatment Plant (NBRWTP), jointly operated by the Cities of Fairfield and Vacaville, to increase treatment capacity from approximately 52.7 million gallons per day (mgd) to a maximum of 65 mgd. The expansion may be implemented in phases and would include new and upgraded water treatment facilities, pumping and chemical storage systems, electrical and control systems, operations facilities, and energy resiliency improvements, including battery energy storage and emergency backup generation. The Project also includes construction of a new treated-water transmission pipeline connecting the NBRWTP to the City of Vacaville's existing water distribution system. Two pipeline alignments are under consideration: the Linear Trail Pipeline Alignment and the Peabody Road Pipeline Alignment. The Project is intended to improve treatment capacity, operational reliability and resiliency, and water delivery to meet existing and planned water demands within the City’s adopted service areas.
