Document Description
The Section 21 Recharge Project (Project) is a multi-purpose groundwater recharge facility designed to expand the Westlands Water District’s capacity to improve local aquifers, supporting the sustainability objectives outlined in the Westside Subbasin Groundwater Sustainability Plan. By increasing the land available for managed groundwater recharge, the Project strengthens the region’s ability to capture and store excess surface water (including flood flows) during wet years using percolation basins.

Furthermore, the Project provides for continued operation of an ongoing project within established parameters on existing facilities, it is categorically exempt under Section 15301 – Existing Facilities.
