Class 2 Categorical Exemption, 15302 Replacement or Reconstruction
Reasons for Exemption
The West Perimeter Bridge Replacement Project is exempt from CEQA under the Class 2 Categorical Exemption (CEQA Guidelines §15302), because it involves the replacement of an existing concrete vehicle bridge on the same site, with a new structure that has the same purpose and capacity. The project takes place entirely within a developed area of Patton State Hospital and does not occur within a flood way, does not affect historical resources, and contains no sensitive habitat. The State confirms that there are no unusual circumstances or environmental conditions exist that would preclude use of the exemption.
