Caltrans approves the encroachment permit for Charter Communications to excavate for the installation of fiber optic cable using one 3-inch conduit and access the existing fiber pedestal/vault for the purpose of pulling fiber through existing underground conduit, as well as perform temporary traffic control activities on State Route (SR) 1 at postmiles 0.516 - 0.507, in the City of Long Beach, County of Los Angeles. Excavation will have a maximum depth of 54 inches, an average width of 12 inches, and a maximum length of 74 feet. No public utilities will be relocated, and no new right-of-way will be acquired for the project.
