Document Description
VVCSD proposes to replace three aging groundwater wells (Wells 1 B, 3A, and 3B) with three new, replacement potable water wells on an approximately 0.76-acre site (Well Site E) within the Burton Mesa Ecological Reserve, to maintain the District's existing water supply capacity as the existing wells reach the end of their functional lifespan. The new wells would have a maximum expected yield of approximately 800 to 1,350 gallons per minute, similar to the existing wells, and would be equipped with electrical service, metering, monitoring, and security infrastructure. The wells would connect to the District's existing water distribution system through new lateral connections and replacement pipelines extending to existing Well Site 1. Construction would be phased as the existing wells are taken out of service and is anticipated to occur from July 2027 through December 2029. The Project does not propose an increase in groundwater pumping.
