Document Description
The Hope House facility serves as a 24-hour residential treatment center providing transitional care for individuals leaving hospitals who require additional support before re-entering the community. The facility accommodates up to 16 residents and plays a critical role in the County's behavioral health continuum by offering an alternative to hospitalization and supporting the recovery and reintegration of vulnerable populations. The County has determined that comprehensive foundation repairs are necessary to address deficiencies and ensure long-term viability of the building. The existing building foundation will be repaired by hydraulically driven piers which push against the building and drilling new piers that will support the existing foundation and concrete slab. Cracks in the existing slab will be repaired, and the slab is anticipated to be lifted in locations using a polyurethane injection which will also provide waterproofing. New soil nails will be used to stabilize an existing retaining wall. Subsurface drains may be added to control subsurface soil moisture. Additionally, there will be limited interior tenant improvement type work, most notably bathroom upgrades. Construction is anticipated to begin in spring 2027 and take approximately one year for completion. Appropriate best management practices such as dust control and storm drain inlet protection will be implemented. Ground disturbance and excavations are anticipated for the foundation work. Vegetation trimming and removal may be necessary. Real property transactions, including but not limited to, right-of-way acquisition and permanent and temporary easements, and utility relocations may be necessary in support of this project. Night or weekend work may be necessary and will be performed in accordance with local guidelines. Emergency vehicles will have access at all times.
