The project involves reconstruction of three existing subterranean 24-inch discharge pipes and a portion of the existing 42-inch pipe manifold to above ground, connecting to the existing 42-inch outfall pipe on the same site and will have substantially the same purpose and capacity

Section 15306 Information Collection (Class 6):
Reasons for Exemption
The Class 6 Categorical Exemption consists of basic data collection, research, experimental management, and resource evaluation activities which do not result in a serious or major disturbance to an environmental resource. The Project involves a geotechnical investigation consisting of up to two (2) boring locations to characterize subsurface conditions and support the structural design of the concrete footing, pipe supports, and relocated manifold which will not result in a serious or major disturbance to an environmental resource.
The Port has determined that none of the exceptions to the exemptions in the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines Section 15300.2 foreclose the use of Categorical Exemption CEQA Guidelines Section 15301 (Class 1. Existing Facilities), Section 15302 (Class 2. Replacement or Reconstruction), and Section 15306 (Class 6. Information Collection); therefore, the Project is exempt from CEQA and no further environmental review is required.
