Document Description
The County of San Luis Obispo Department of Public Works (County) proposes to construct pedestrian and bicycle safety improvements in the community of Oceano. The project includes the installation of approximately 1,300 linear feet of new sidewalk, curb and gutter, ADA-compliant curb ramps, and enhanced high-visibility crosswalks. Project improvements would be constructed within existing public rights-of-way along 19th Street, 20th Street, 21st Street, Warner Street, and Vista Street, primarily along the eastern boundary of Oceano Elementary School. The purpose of the project is to improve pedestrian and bicycle access and enhance safety and accessibility for students, families, and community members traveling to and from the school and within the surrounding neighborhood. Construction activities would include but not be limited to minor grading, paving, concrete construction, and installation of pavement markings.
