Document Description
As part of the California Stream Gage Improvement Program, the California Department of Water Resources has executed a contract with the Kuruk Tribe to reactivate an existing stream gage located on the right bank of the Scott River at Roxbury Bridge. Proposed activities will utilize the previously installed infrastructure (i.e., conduit, anchor posts), possibly replace damaged equipment (i.e., staff plates), and activate/upgrade the stream gaging system as a bubbler system. Proposed activities are not anticipated to require any additional ground disturbance or tree removal.

Reasons for Exemption
The proposed stream gage reactivation would use the existing infrastructure previously installed and is not anticipated to result in any additional ground disturbance or tree removal. The proposed stream gage will collect continuous surface water monitoring data, including stage, flow, water temperature, and specific conductance. Proposed activities qualify for categorical exemptions 15301 (Existing Facilities) and 15306 (Information Collection). Proposed activities will not result in a significant impact to the environment and none of the exceptions described in CEQA Guidelines Section 15300.2 apply.
