Document Description
The project is located at the northern terminus of Hoover Street adjacent to Eureka Slough in the unincorporated Myrtletown area of Humboldt County, California. The site is within the California coastal zone and consists of the existing Hoover Street Lift Station and associated wastewater infrastructure.
The project would protect the Hoover Street Lift Station from existing and future coastal flooding and sea-level rise. Project components include construction of a 370-foot-long interlocking steel sheet pile floodwall around the lift station and adjacent sewer manhole; relocation and realignment of sewer and water utilities; installation of onsite drainage improvements; and restoration of wetlands disturbed by construction. The floodwall would be designed to protect the facility through projected 2080 sea-level rise and flood conditions while maintaining continued wastewater service.
