Document Description
The Yurok Tribe proposes a health and wellness center that would function as a 24-hour residential behavioral health/SUD treatment facility (ASAM levels) with ancillary outpatient services. The center would consist of 3 interconnected buildings referred to as the "Commons" (-15,048 s.f.), ''West House" (-7,545 s.f.), and "East House" (-4,717 s.f.) that will collectively serve as a residential treatment center, outpatient clinic, and community-serving meeting spaces. The project would include 20 residential treatment rooms and 2 private rooms with a capacity of up to 52 patients and would employ up to 57 people. Site improvements would include a new access road, parking (totaling 66 spaces), new utility connections, outdoor lighting, a photovoltaic system, two septic systems, back-up diesel generator, retaining walls, seasonal stormwater drainage features, two (2) 60,000-gallon water storage tanks, and a small utility shed. Additional exterior amenities include outdoor gathering spaces, garden seating areas, salmon preparation station, fence and gated entrance, and several cultural and wellness-oriented features such as a cultural and art trails, challenge trail, children's garden, garden terrace, gathering area amphitheater, and meadow walk.
