Reasons for Exemption
This project is exempt from CEQA under Section 15308 because it is fire safety
maintenance within existing recreation areas and is part of normal operational and maintenance activities. The purpose of the maintenance work is to maintain, enhance, and protect the natural environment with the implementation of fuel reduction techniques. All work will be conducted within and adjacent to disturbed recreation areas, The maintenance activities will not impact sensitive species. Additionally, the maintenance work is not considered a project as it does not require a permit or other regulatory approvals as it is part of the standard operational activities for the three recreational areas.
