Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is proposing to remove and replace deteriorated fencing along the northbound side of State Route (SR) 89, spanning from Post Mile (PM) 15.3 to PM 20.1 in Alpine County. The existing fence, consisting of barbed wire (Type BW) and wire mesh (Type WM), will be replaced. As this stretch of SR 89 is a designated scenic route, wooden posts will be maintained to preserve the aesthetic integrity of the area.
The purpose of this project is to remove and replace existing, deteriorated fencing along SR 89 between the cities of Alpine Village and Markleeville, in Alpine County. The fence installation will re-establish the access control and demarcation of the existing State's Right of Way (R/W).
