Document Description
Caltrans is undertaking a State-Funded project in Humboldt and Mendocino counties near Arcata and near Piercy on route 101 at the Arcata overhead and at the route 101/271 separation. Work will consist of replacing obsolete Changeable Message Sign systems, wiring within existing conduit cabinets, controllers and other associated cabinet components. The project aims to enhance the operational efficiency and reliability of the existing traffic management system. All replacements will utilize current industry-standard equipment. All work will be confined to the existing State right-of-way, with no soil or vegetation disturbance anticipated beyond the existing pavement/disturbed areas. Caltrans Maintenance forces and the traveling public will benefit from the project.
