Reasons for Exemption
The proposed project is Categorically Exempt from CEQA under Section 15307, Class 7, which consists of actions taken to maintain, restore, or enhance a natural resource, and Section 15304, Class 4, which consists of minor alteration in the condition of land, water, and/or vegetation, which does not involve the removal of mature trees. The proposed revetment will stabilize the shoreline at El Dorado Beach and prevent further erosion, as well as eliminate the discharge of microplastics resulting from the exposure and degradation of the existing super stack sandbags, thereby protecting the water quality of Lake Tahoe.
