Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed
Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification Number AMA-65754-R2, pursuant to
Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, Peter J. Connelly
Jr./California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
The project is limited to the recontouring of existing drainage features at the Mule Creek State
Prison (MCSP) through excavation, placement of Rock Slope Protection (RSP) and native fill
material to convert these features to vegetated "bioswales" (i.e., streambeds). The bioswales
are intended to manage storm water flows, reduce flooding and erosion, and reduce
sedimentation and pollutants from entering the watercourse downstream. The project is being
completed in response to a court order. A total of 600 cubic yards of materials will be
excavated and filled to recontour the swale bottoms and 13 cubic yards of 8-inch RSP will be
placed within the channel for check dams and aprons.
