Document Description
Project includes the rehabilitation and repair of the existing west and northwest embankment face and toe drainage swale of the District's Hinkle Reservoir (potable water storage). More specifically, the embankment face work includes the repair of rivulets (erosion) that have developed over several years from water run-off down the face of the embankment. The rivulets will be repaired, and an armored layer of crushed rock will be placed over the area to protect it from future erosion. Work also includes the rehabilitation of the existing drainage swale at the toe of the embankment that has been filled in with silt from the erosion. The existing rock swale will be replaced with a concrete swale for ease of cleaning in the future. The purpose of the project is to extend life, improve resistance to erosion, and reduce future maintenance costs of the embankment and swale. These improvements will benefit the District's rate payers.
