Document Description
The Fresno Unified School District proposes the Norseman Elementary School Modernization Project to modernize the existing 12.4-acre Norseman Elementary School campus and associated adjacent rights-of-way using Measure H bond funding. The project includes demolition, reconstruction, and renovation of aging facilities; construction of new classroom, early learning, and administration buildings; modernization of existing campus buildings; upgrades to outdoor learning and recreation areas; and improvements to parking, circulation, and student drop-off areas. The project would demolish approximately 27,850 square feet of existing buildings and construct approximately 28,500 square feet of new facilities, resulting in approximately 64,100 square feet of total campus space. Limited off-site traffic safety improvements may also occur within adjacent public rights-of-way. Construction is anticipated to occur between June 2028 and August 2029 and would be phased to allow the school to remain operational. The project would not increase student enrollment or campus capacity and would be designed in compliance with applicable state building, accessibility, energy efficiency, and safety standards.
