Document Description
PG&E proposes to install a new riser, down guy wire and anchor on an existing pole (#103122524), install approximately 1,729 lineal feet of underground 4-inch conduit, excavate various 5'x5'x5' bore pits, and install four buried vaults within the California Department of Transportation’s (Caltrans) right of way along State Route 299 in Shasta County from post mile 68.62 to 68.88 near Burney. Traffic control will be provided while performing the work. The shoulder and/or lane closure will be taken in accordance with Caltrans site-specific traffic control plan and is subject to change per site conditions and pre-construction meetings. Caltrans will issue an encroachment permit (02-26-6-US-0237) for the proposed work.

The California Department of Transportation has determined that the project is categorically exempt in accordance with Section 15304 (Minor Alterations to Land) Class 4 (f) – Minor trenching and backfilling where the surface is restored. Class 4 consists of minor public or private alterations in the condition of land, water, and/or vegetation which do not involve removal of healthy, mature, scenic trees except for forestry or agricultural purposes. The project would not have a significant effect on the environment.
