Document Description
Caltrans proposes a project to replace one (1) Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV), three (3) Changeable Message Signs (CMS), and four (4) Traffic Monitoring Detection Stations (TMDS) in various locations and counties. The project will leverage various sensor technologies to continuously monitor traffic flow and manage traffic safety at various post miles on State Route (SR) 99, 51, 50, 267, and Interstate (I) 5 and I-80. This project is needed as a list of eight (8) chronic locations that have been identified. These locations are outdated and need to be upgraded to meet the current standards for allowing efficient use of traffic monitoring and relieving traffic congestion. The project involves only electrical work and requires no soil disturbance.
