Reasons for Exemption
Class 1 applies to the project as the remodel of Building B involves the minor alteration of an existing structure, involving no expansion of use beyond that of the existing. Class 4 applies to the Project as it includes only minor path of travel upgrades and trenching for utility infrastructure serving the classrooms, all work would be completed to match existing and adjacent conditions. No mature, scenic trees would be removed by the Project. Class 14 applies as the project would not increase capacity by more than 25% or 10 classrooms at the existing school. The new facility would accommodate school operations and would not increase the enrollment capacity of Washington Alternative High School. Therefore, the school enrollment capacity would remain the same as under the existing condition, and the project would not increase the original student capacity by more than 25 percent or the classroom county by 10. The project meets class 14 exemption requirements. Additionally, none of the exceptions listed in CEQA Guidelines Section 15300.2 apply to the project
