Pursuant to Memorandum of Understanding HD-9639 between the City of Long Beach (City) and the Port of Long Beach (Port), effective May 23, 2023, the City transferred Oil Operating Area 32A, previously controlled by Long Beach Energy Resources Department (LBER), to the Port. LBER used the site for storage of its equipment. WattEV LB2, Inc. currently occupies Oil Operating Area 32A under Area Assignment AA-24-05. The proposed action is execution of a two-year lease with WattEV LB2, Inc. for parking of road-worthy trucks, loaded and unloaded containers on chassis, and storage of chassis, commencing May 1, 2026, and expiring April 30, 2028, at which time Area Assignment AA-24-05 shall terminate.
