Document Description
Caltrans proposes to install full trash capture devices (trash nets and trash capture housing) at locations along I-580 in Alameda County and SR-24 in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties to keep trash out of local waterways. This project will address the requirements for trash load reduction within the Caltrans right of way, per the Caltrans Statewide National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System Permit. This project would also help Caltrans meet the requirements of the 2019 Cease and Desist Order from the San Francisco Bay Regional Water Quality Board to implement trash control in the Caltrans right of way.
