The applicant has requested a Use Permit to allow an existing restaurant to sell alcohol for off-site consumption, operating Monday through Saturday between the hours of 7:00am-9:00pm, at an existing 3,122-squarefoot commercial building on a 2.17-acre parcel northwest of Sonoma. The project does not propose expansion of square footage or any new construction and utilizes an existing parking area to serve the proposed use. Restaurants are allowed by right in the Neighborhood Commercial District zoning district; however, a us~ permit is required for alcohol sales. The current restaurant operation is for baked goods and other food for take-out.

The proposed request to allow an existing restaurant to allow the sale of alcohol for off-site consumption is categorically exempt from the provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to the Provisions of Title 14 of the California Code of Regulations, Section 15301 (Existing Facilities) of the CEQA
Guidelines which provides for reuse of existing facilities which involve negligible expansion of existing or former uses. No exceptions listed under Section 15300.2 apply. There is no reasonable possibility that the project would have a significant effect on the environment.
