Document Description
The proposed project includes replacing the existing dock with a new aluminum gangway with decking, installation of new wood handrails and posts, and a complete replacement of the dock subframe. The new subframe will reduce span spacing from the existing 4-foot span to a more secure 2-foot span to increase stability and improve safety when walking on the dock. The gangway leading to the dock is 20 feet long and 2.5 feet wide. Attached are the site plans showing dimensions, as well as the submitted project description. Construction activities are anticipated to require approximately one week to complete depending upon weather conditions, material availability, and site access. Construction equipment may include hand tools, power tools, small portable generators, drills, saws, impact drivers, material handling equipment. No grading, trenching, excavation, dredging, fill placement, or other earthmoving activities are proposed as part of this project. There will be no lakebed disturbance, as the scope of the project is limited to the structure above water. Construction personnel are expected to consist of approximately three to five employees including a project supervisor. Typical construction hours are expected to occur between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. All construction debris generated from removal of existing decking and framing components will be collected and disposed of at an approved disposal facility. No known sensitive habitats, wetlands, or protected vegetation are proposed to be disturbed as part of this project. No tree removal is proposed. Existing shoreline vegetation will remain undisturbed. The project is limited to repair and rehabilitation of the existing dock and pier, and no future phases of development, dock expansion, shoreline modification, or additional waterfront improvements are currently proposed under this application. The scope of work is limited to the existing dock and pier, and do not include modifications or expansion to the boat ramp.
