Document Description
The San Bernardino County Department of Public Works (DPW), on behalf of the San Bernardino County Innovation and Technology Department (ITD), proposes to repair and restore an existing unpaved access road serving an existing remote communications tower. The roadway has been damaged by erosion, resulting in rutting and washouts that has rendered the road impassable. Subject to authorization from the City of Fontana, work would occur within the existing roadway footprint and including grading and reshaping of the road surface, filling ruts and washouts with onsite material where feasible and imported clean fill as needed, removing and reinstalling an existing pipe gate, and reestablishing roadside drainage with a drainage swale. Equipment may include a grader, loader, dump trucks, and a water truck for dust control. Temporary traffic control and public safety measures would be implemented during construction. No expansion of the existing roadway or change in use is proposed.
