Document Description
Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) utilizes a robust business telecommunication network to provide service for data, devices, cameras, and security systems. EMWD's reliance on network connectivity has increased significantly over the past ten years and the purpose of the proposed project is to improve the system scalability and capacity by utilizing a fully redundant telecommunication network architecture. The proposed project consists of the installation of three communication towers at three different EMWD-owned sites across the service area (Table 1). The tower would either be a 40' monopole or a 120' lattice tower. Beneficiaries of the project are EMWD staff and ratepayers.

Reasons for Exemption
The proposed project includes the construction of a limited number of new, small facilities or structures in the form of communication towers. The proposed project would also include minimal grading and trenching for the installation of the towers. The removal of healthy, mature trees is not anticipated for this project, as the sites are already maintained.
