Document Description
Install centerline rumble strips (CLRS) and edge line rumble strips (ELRS). In San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties on Route 166, in San Luis Obispo County on Route 33, and in Santa Barbara County on Routes 154 and 246. The purpose of this project is to reduce the number and severity of cross over and runoff-the-road collisions. Locations within the project limits have been identified in the Cross Over Collisions Monitoring Program. Rumble strips are identified as a low-cost countermeasure to reduce cross over collisions. The beneficiaries of this project are the traveling public along the project’s highways.
