Document Description
CAL FIRE proposes to relocate communication equipment from the existing CAL FIRE communication vault to the existing adjacent Bureau of Land Management (BLM) communication vault. Work includes installation of antennas on the existing BLM tower, installation of grounding to Motorola R56 standards, minor modifications within the existing BLM facility, removal of the existing CAL FIRE vault and monopole, and restoration of the disturbed areas. No expansion of the site footprint is proposed.

Reasons for Exemption
The project proposes to relocate communication equipment to an adjacent BLM vault and remove the CAL FIRE vault and tower. No impacts will occur to special status species or habitat. Review by CAL FIRE staff confirmed that no exceptions apply that would preclude the use of a notice of exemption for this project. The Department has concluded that no significant environmental impact would occur to aesthetics, agriculture and forestland/timberland, air quality, biological resources, cultural resources, energy, geology and soils, greenhouse gas emissions, hazards and hazardous materials, hydrology and water quality, land use planning, mineral resources, noise, populations and housing, public services, recreation, transportation/ traffic, utilities and service systems, or to wildfire. Documentation of the environmental review completed by the Department is kept on file at 1131 S Street, Sacramento, CA 95811.
