Reasons for Exemption
Class 4 applies because the Proposed Project would occur on previously disturbed land within an existing high school campus and would involve minor grading, demolition of portable classrooms, and construction of campus improvements. All areas disturbed would be restored to operable conditions. No healthy, mature, scenic trees would be removed.
Class 14 applies because the Project involves minor additions to an existing high school campus, including the replacement of 19 portable classrooms with a new two-story classroom building with 20 classrooms. The Project would result in a net increase of 1 classroom, below the ten-classroom threshold. The Project would increase enrollment capacity by less than 1 percent, below the threshold of 25 percent.
None of the exceptions in CEQA Guidelines Section 15300.2 apply to the Proposed Project.
