Reasons for Exemption
The City of San Diego determined that the project would qualify to be categorically exempt from CEQA under Section 15301, Existing Facilities which consists of the operation, repair, maintenance, permitting, leasing, licensing, or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities, mechanical equipment, or topographical features, involving negligible or no expansion of existing or former use. The project is a use permit for an indoor multi-entertainment facility with on-site sale of alcoholic beverages at an existing two-story commercial building. No change or expansion of the existing commercial use within the shopping center is proposed. This development is within the limits described for the exemptions, and the exceptions in Section 15300.2 do not apply. The site is not included on any list compiled pursuant to Government Code Section 65962.5 for hazardous waste sites.
