Reasons for Exemption
CEQA Section 15301 applies to the maintenance, repair, and minor alteration of existing public or private facilities, including mechanical equipment, so long as there is negligible or no increase in capacity or expansion of use. The California Central Coast Veterans Cemetery Administration and Maintenance buildings are modern, existing facilities, and the upgrade of the existing HVAC systems will not expand capacity nor change the facility's use. There is no ground disturbance associated with the project. The project will not have a significant effect on resources in the area. The State has confirmed no exceptions to the exemption apply.
