The Coastal Conservancy grant will fund the City of Fortuna to undertake the Great Redwood Trail Development - State Route 36 to Fernbridge Project, consisting of conducting tribal and community engagement, resource studies and surveys, trash removal and vegetation management, and preparation of 30% designs for a 6.2-mile segment of the Great Redwood Trail (GRT) and appurtenant trail amenities in the City of Fortuna and unincorporated Humboldt County.

The project’s vegetation management is necessary to conduct the studies and surveys and therefore is within the scope of this exemption.
