Reasons for Exemption
After reviewing the project and its setting, the Environmental Coordinator for the County of Tuolumne has determined that the project is categorically exempt from review under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to Section 15307 and 15308 of the State CEQA Guidelines because the agreement is an action by a regulatory agency (County of Tuolumne) to protect natural resources and the environment by managing nuisance wildlife that damage or threaten flood control facilities, agricultural levies, waterways, and soil stability protects residents, crops, and livestock from predators, and other nuisance wildlife, and protects forests, threatened and endangered species and wetlands. None of the exceptions to the use of a categorical exemption fund in Section 15300.2 of the state CEQA Guidelines apply to this project.
