Document Description
The proposed project consists of rehabilitation, preservation, and accessibility improvements to the historic Saint Peter's (Naval) Chapel, Quarters A and the Servant Quarters. lmprovements include restoration and repair of exterior building features, roof and foundation repairs, accessibility upgrades, utility and infrastructure improvements, landscaping enhancements, and installation of fire protection systems. The project also includes construction of a detached accessible restroom structure at Saint Peter's Chapel and accessible entrances and restroom facilities at the Servants Quarters. Additional site improvements include irrigation, lighting, paving, retaining wall repairs, and accessibility-related circulation enhancements to support continued use of the historic properties.

The rehabilitation work has been designed and conditioned to ensure consistency with the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties and is limited to repair, restoration, rehabilitation, and related improvements that preserve the resource's historic character-defining features. The project does not include substantial alteration, demolition, or new construction that would materially impair the significance of the historic resource and therefore qualifies for the cited categorical exemptions.
