Document Description
This project will include placement and operation of an air curtain burner at the Pumice Valley Landfill. The placement location is on landfill property and is devoid of vegetation. The project will involve burning organic, green wood material (virgin wood), and clean wood waste in the air curtain burner. The green material will be collected at community fire-safe clean-up events and by residents creating fire-safe breaks at their homes. Material will be transported to the landfill. The nearest receptor is 5,800 feet (1.1 miles) in distance, and the nearest community/school is 41,184 feet (7.8 miles) away. A permit to construct and operate has been obtained from Great Basin Unified Air Pollution Control District. The district has determined the permit falls below the air quality significance determination and does not create a major source of air pollution or violate Clean Air Act standards.
