Document Description
This State funded District Director's Order will install bonded rock anchors into a cracked rock formation on State Route(SR) 168. Geotechnical engineers determined that a portion of the rock face at post mile 30.59 on SR 168 near the westbound lane could fall due to temperature fluctuations. It was recommended that four bonded rock anchors be inserted 9-12 feet deep into the rock face to anchor the unsupported portion of the rock into the more stable underlying rock mass and prevent potential rocks falls on SR 168.
