Document Description
The Alameda County Flood Control and Water Conservation District (District), Zone 12 Drainage Master Plan, determined that the existing underground 14.5’ wide x 6’ high reinforced concrete culvert box (RCB) along Line B between Harrison Street and 26th Street is under capacity associated with the 100-year design storm event. The District plans to modify the existing RCB outfall structure to accommodate an additional underground RCB in the near future under Harrison Street and 27th Street. The outfall modification project consists of installing an approximately 50-foot-long, 6’ wide x 6’ high RCB bypass beneath the sidewalk adjacent to the existing RCB. Approximately 14 linear feet and 10 cubic yards of the existing concrete channel wall on the western side of the existing RCB outfall will be removed to accommodate the new RCB outfall. A warped concrete wing wall will also be installed and conformed to the existing channel wall. A total of approximately 128 square feet of the existing concrete channel apron will be removed and reconstructed to accommodate this additional structure. The purpose of the project is to improve the underground storm pipe outfall to meet the 100-year design storm event.
