The omnibus code update amends Brea City Code Chapters 20.00, 20.08, 20.11, 20.28, 20.52, 20.68, 20.208, 20.212, 20.216, and 20.220. The purpose of this zoning
ordinance text amendment is to: 1) comply with housing laws for replacement housing requirements; 2) provide clarity and consistency with updated ADU and JADU state laws; 3) reorganize residential development standards; 4) update drive aisle widths and driveway standards; 5) clarify and reorganize standards for free-standing signs; 6) update land use regulations for Personal Services; and 7) clarify certain zoning ordinance provisions and address existing grammatical errors, unclear definitions, incorrect references, and internal inconsistency.

The omnibus code update includes the following amendments: complying with housing laws for replacement housing requirements, providing clarity and consistency with updated ADU and JADU state laws, reorganizing residential development standards, updating drive aisle widths and driveway standards, clarifying and
reorganizing standards for free-standing signs, updating land use regulations for Personal Services, and clarifying certain zoning ordinance provisions and addressing existing grammatical errors, unclear definitions, incorrect references, and internal inconsistency. As such, the amendments in the omnibus code update will not have a significant effect on the environment. Any future developments would be subject to CEQA review.
