Caltrans approves the encroachment permit for Charter Spectrum to excavate and install fiber-optic cable using one 3-inch conduit for the placement of one Charter Spectrum vault. Overlash aerial cable placement onto existing utility poles, as well as perform temporary traffic control activities. The project is located on State Route (SR) 2 at postmile 10.73 in the City and County of Los Angeles. Excavation will have a maximum depth of 54 inches, an average width of 12 inches, and a maximum length of 11 feet. No public utilities will be relocated, and no new right-of-way will be acquired for the project.
