Document Description
The purpose of the Project is to restore damaged drainage infrastructure and address seasonal erosion of channel bank slopes following rain events.
The Discharger proposes to restore damaged drainage infrastructure to its pre-failure condition by repairing and replacing approximately 250 linear feet of the failed concrete channel to restore the original alignment, grade, and hydraulic and structural capacity. The slope stabilization component will remove existing grass, involve minor grading, install a new irrigation system, install geosynthetic matting, install new sod, and repair deteriorated grouted rip rap. No channel expansion or modification of drainage patterns is proposed. The total size of the entire area for all Project activities is 2.27 acres. Construction is expected to begin once all permits are approved and will continue for 5 months.

Reasons for Exemption
The proposed project is determined to be Categorically Exempt pursuant to California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines Section 15301 (Existing Facilities). Section 15301 Class 1 consists of the operation, repair, maintenance or minor alteration of existing public structures, facilities, mechanical equipment, or topographical features, involving negligible or no expansion of use. The proposed project is determined to be Categorically Exempt pursuant to California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines Section 15304 (Minor Alterations to Land). Section 15304 Class 4 consists of minor public or private alterations in the condition of land, water, and/or vegetation which do not involve removal
of healthy, mature, scenic trees except for forestry or agricultural purposes. Examples of this exemption include minor trenching and backfilling where the surface is restored. The proposed actions would not result in a significant effect on the environment, create a cumulative impact, damage a scenic highway, or cause a substantial adverse change in the significance of a historical resource. The project involves no expansion of an existing use.
